NetJets operates the largest fractional aircraft fleet in the world and sets the industry standard in safety. But it is the high standards of security and service that will make you feel the way an owner of a private jet should feel. The Marquis Jet Card brings you the benefits of NetJets - 25 hours at a time.

Comparison Chart - Marquis Jet Card vs. Independent Jet Memberships

The Marquis Jet Card is a fractional based jet card program which gives you exclusive access to the fleet of over 800 aircraft1 operated and managed by NetJets – the worldwide leader in fractional aircraft ownership. NetJets provides guaranteed aircraft availability and consistent, high quality service that you can rely on. In contrast, there are various independent jet membership programs that simply broker aircraft owned and operated by other carriers.

Aircraft, Pilots and Operations

The Marquis Jet Card program provides exclusive access to the NetJets fractional aircraft fleet — the overwhelming choice of Fortune 500 companies. The NetJets fractional aircraft fleet has an average aircraft age of approximately 6 years. In comparison, the average age of charter aircraft in the U.S. utilized by ad hoc charter operations and available to independent jet membership programs is 15 years of age. This difference is noticeable not only in the inconsistent internal and external appearances of one-off charter aircraft, but also in the lack of mandated safety instrumentation and avionics at the pilots' disposal.

NetJets pilots — including some former Air Force One pilots — are among the most highly trained pilots in the world. NetJets pilots attend recurrent training twice a year and are dedicated to fly only one specific aircraft type for ultimate familiarity.

NetJets supports its aircraft and pilots with maintenance standards that exceed all manufacturer recommendations. Charter pilot experience, training levels and familiarity with the aircraft vary greatly; as do the supporting maintenance, operations and levels of insurance.

Aircraft Availability

Independent jet membership programs typically own no assets, e.g. aircraft, maintenance facilities. This greatly limits the aircraft availability and aircraft selection that independent jet membership programs can offer. Generally, they cannot guarantee the aircraft type, aircraft condition or the time and location of arrival and departure. With the Marquis Jet Card program, Card Owners have access to over 800* aircraft worldwide operated and managed by the NetJets family of operating companies. The Card ensures you will always get your specific aircraft type, or if you aircraft type is not available, at our cost you will be provided with a comparable or larger aircraft, whenever you wish to fly. Independent jet membership programs' availability problems are exacerbated during peak travel days and seasons, as the supply of available aircraft dwindles because the aircraft are being used by the aircraft owners and are not being made available to the general charter market.
*Total number of aircraft includes aircraft under management by Executive Jet® Management.

Aircraft Selection

The majority of independent jet membership programs limit your aircraft selection to a category - light, mid-size or large cabin - rather than to a specific aircraft type. There is an economic impact to being limited to a specific category - you are being charged an hourly price in-line with the best aircraft type available within the category while the membership program is free to provide you with the cheapest aircraft type in the category. The few programs that do allow you to request a specific aircraft type charge as much as a 50% premium to their regular price for this service. Moreover, independent jet membership programs always charge more per hour than it would cost you to charter the same aircraft yourself right out of the yellow pages. With the Marquis Jet Card program you have exclusive access to the NetJets fractional aircraft fleet and the ability to select the specific aircraft type you wish to fly for each flight.

Cost Predictability

The Marquis Jet Card program provides Marquis Jet Card Owners with cost predictability they can rely on. Ad hoc charter operations and independent jet membership programs will often include charges for minimum daily usage of two hours per day or more, catering (complimentary with the Marquis Jet Card) and late cancellation fees (which Marquis Jet does not charge). In addition, by charging a different hourly price for one-way versus round-trip itineraries, the ad hoc charters and independent jet membership programs are effectively charging you for dead-head, ferrying and positioning, without specifically itemizing the charges as such. Marquis Jet Card Owners taking the same trip a second or third time never have to worry about price fluctuation or surprise charges.

Guaranteed Quality and Service

With the Marquis Jet Card, you have exclusive access to fly privately on the premier fractional aircraft fleet operated and managed by NetJets. NetJets provides guaranteed aircraft availability and high quality and consistent service that you can rely on. In contrast, when you fly with ad hoc charter there is limited availability and choice of aircraft. You do not have any guarantee as to the particular aircraft being provided and its condition, or a guarantee that any aircraft at all will be available at the time and place you wish to fly.

In addition, there is a 20-25% chance that every scheduled commercial airlines trip will be delayed or cancelled. The Marquis Jet Card program gives you access to NetJets, thus allowing you to avoid the delays, aggravations and mistreatment of scheduled commercial airlines and to put your life back in your control.

70% of scheduled commercial airline passengers use only 30 airports! The Marquis Jet Card is the better way to travel to standard destinations or to more remote locations by allowing you to select from thousands of airports around the globe.

Time Savings: Marquis Jet vs. Scheduled Commercial Airlines
In general, the in-flight times of a NetJets aircraft and a non-stop scheduled commercial flight are similar. However, using your Marquis Jet Card will save you the hassles and at least two hours of pre-departure procedures and similar time after you land and wait for baggage claim, etc. As soon as you have a situation involving a connection, your Card will save you several hours on each end of a trip.
